Description
This 2209 Duplex wire is formulated specifically for austenitic-ferritic duplex structures and is not intended for standard 304 or 316 grade stainless steel applications.
The Elga Cromarod Duplex 2209 Stainless Steel TIG filler series delivers the precise chemistry needed for demanding high-strength structural fabrication. Featuring a balanced 23Cr/9Ni/3Mo chemical layout, it provides excellent resistance to localized pitting and stress corrosion cracking in aggressive chloride or acidic environments. Fully compliant with AWS A5.9 ER2209 and EN ISO 14343 performance classifications, ensuring highly stable arc control and flawless weld bead aesthetics.
Cromarod Duplex is a rutile flux coated electrode which deposits a 24%Cr / 10%Ni / 3%Mo / 0.15%N austenitic-ferritic duplex stainless steel weld metal having a ferrite content of about FN 35. The electrode is easy to use and produces a smooth weld bead finish and good slag detachability. Cromarod Duplex is designed for welding similar composition duplex stainless steels which offer an excellent combination of high strength and very good resistance to chloride induced pitting and stress corrosion cracking.
