8XE MIG 500 Fume Extraction Torch – WATER-COOLED
CO2 – 550 AMP, MIXED GASES – 500 AMP, DUTY CYCLE – 100%
Weight*: 1.680 KG
The 8XE 500 MIG fume extraction torch integrates the most efficient fume extraction structure in the welding industry. The torch comes with three different angles, 30°, 45°, and straight. The 8XE MIG 500 Extractor, combined with the ClearO2 W-series 100 and 200, captures up to 98% of welding fumes directly at the source. It provides the safest and most effective solution for welders and workers to breathe CLEAN AIR and enjoy better work environments.
Specifications:
* The torch’s weight is measured by a distance of one meter from the ground.
Within confined spaces, you can now combine the benefits of on-gun fume extraction with portable Local Exhaust Ventilation (LEV), all run from the same system!
Using the Translas Dual system, a welder can run on-gun fume extraction on one extraction hose, and then using the other hose, they can set-up a focused Local Exhaust Ventilation (LEV) extraction nozzle.
The Translas on-gun fume extraction system can extract up to 98% of welding fume directly at the source. By combining On-Gun fume extraction with the LEV nozzle in a confined space, any fume that escapes the on-gun fume extraction (the remaining 2% +) can be further reduced by the LEV nozzle.
In a confined space, we must keep welding fume to a minimum. The dual extraction system combines two extraction methods (on-gun & portable LEV) to offer two engineering control layers to reduce welding fume build-up within a confined space.

“On-gun fume extraction is too heavy, too bulky, and impacts the shielding gas”… Not anymore.
On-gun fume extraction is one of the safest and most effective methods of controlling welding fume and is heavily used and relied upon in Europe and North America. However, for the reasons above, on-gun extraction has not taken off in Australia or New Zealand.
AWS has teamed up with Translas, Dutch on-gun fume extraction specialist, to launch an industry first: a range of lightweight, manoeuvrable, and ergonomic extraction guns that deliver the highest capture rate on the market – up to 98% – while leaving the shielding gas completely unaffected.
No other welding fume control solution captures welding fume at the source, removes it from the environment, and most importantly, follows the welder as they move. Experience Translas fume extraction technology today.
* Confined spaces can be deadly and decisions on how to handle a specific confined space must be assessed on the spot and always comes down to the specifics of the individual situation. There should be a suitably trained and knowledgeable person doing the assessment and design of a safe system for any confined space entry.
When you consider a welding fume particle that is 0.5 μm in size can take 2 days to reach the floor when released from a height of 1.5 metres, you begin to understand how long these carcinogenic particles can remain suspended in the air. This is vital to consider when sharing a work environment with welders, as the air could contain respiratory hazards long after welding has been completed.
On-gun fume extraction can assist in reducing exposure to welding fume and other airborne contaminants, not only for the welder, but also for those who work near welding operations. This is the key difference between on-gun fume extraction and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) used by the welder. PPE can only protect the welder, while on-gun fume extraction can protect the welder and stop the spread of fume throughout the workplace protecting all workers from welding fume exposure.
For this reason, on-gun fume extraction can be the most economical method to protect all workers from welding fume exposure in shared working environments.
