Product Overview

The WIA™ Austarc™ 13S (AWS A5.1: E6013) is Australia’s premier “blue and white striped” general-purpose rutile-type stick welding electrode, built specifically for structural engineering workshops demanding high efficiency. Formulated for exceptionally smooth mitre fillet welding profiles across downhand and vertical-up operations, it produces a soft, stable arc with minimal spatter.

The defining benefit for heavy industrial applications is its signature self-peeling slag action. The slag lifts effortlessly off the completed bead, cutting post-weld grinding and wire-brushing labor in half.

To streamline bulk supply chains across large-scale manufacturing and infrastructure operations, we stock these specialized multi-process electrodes in thick, high-capacity workshop setups:

    • 2.5mm Diameter Trade Carton (12.5kg Bulk Box): The ultimate heavy trade pack for thin sheet metal fabrications, structural tubing components, and precise root run setups.
    • 3.2mm Diameter Heavy Carton (15kg Industrial Box): Maximizes volume supply constraints for continuous production runs using the workshop standard 3.2mm rod gauge.
    • 4.0mm Diameter Heavy Carton (15kg Industrial Box): Designed for heavy-duty structural steel plating and thicker cross-section joint configurations requiring higher deposition rates.

Typical Application Footprint: Essential for structural steel framing, transport trailers, heavy hoppers, sheet metal ductwork, storage tanks, and galvanized steel pipe assemblies.

Applications

  • Tubular Sections
  • Trailers
  • Structural Welding of Sheet and Plate Steel Galvanised or Otherwise
  • Storage Tanks
  • Hoppers
  • Duct Work

Processes

  • SMAW
  • MMAW

Typical Applications

Typical applications include structural welding of sheet and plate steel (galvanised or otherwise) and tubular sections, including trailers, duct work, hoppers and storage tanks.
